David Hemingway founded K-One Fitness in San Francisco in 1995. K-One Fitness was a premier martial arts training gym that offered classes in Boxing, Muay Thai kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The gym also featured a kids' program that taught Mixed Martial Arts  to develop self defense skills and build confidence in children.

The facility was equipped with a full array of personal training equipment and had a dedicated team of personal trainers. It included two training areas and a boxing ring. Hemingway is a 2nd degree Blackbelt in a Kyokushin based system and was a Northern California Golden Gloves Champion. Hemingway is also a Certified USA BOXING COACH.

 

 

 

Hemingway was present at the gym daily, teaching, training, and fully embracing the blood, sweat, and tears lifestyle that he loved.

In December 2018, after 23 years of ownership, Hemingway sold K-One Fitness. From 2018 to 2024, after Hemingway sold the gym, built a campervan, then traveled for a while, and eventually moved to Key West. There, he became a fine artist, using oil and acrylic on handcrafted birch canvases. His work featured a monolithic style and drew influences from Egyptian, Sumerian, and Tibetan art. He held multiple art shows during this time. Later, he moved to Panama City. and taught kickboxing at the Rillion Gracie Jiu-jitsu Academy. Recently Hemingway has moved so Santa Rosa Beach and is continuing world class personal training and group Boxing and Kick boxing classes as well as creating works of art.
